Green Energy Benny Farm

EVBF believes that renewable energy can be a major force supporting affordable housing and sustaining community services. By making an investment in ecologically sustainable technologies and sharing the energy savings, EVBF is helping Montrealers reduce their environmental impact and keep their utility costs affordable.
This website has been created to provide a comprehensive overview of EVBF’s activities and to disseminate information on affordable green building alternatives for residential developments. It aims to provide a useful resource for residents of the participating housing projects, the public in general, and other organizations wishing to incorporate similar ideas into their own affordable housing projects.
EVBF was created in 2005, its team assembled from among Montreal’s leaders in sustainable development and green design.
EVBF was conceived as a community-owned energy services company dedicated to producing and providing green energy for several social housing projects on the Benny Farm site in Montreal’s Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighbourhood. Through these projects, EVBF has developed a unique expertise in the conceptualization, design, implementation and maintenance of a wide range of green and cost-efficient technologies that reduce the ecological footprint of both buildings themselves and those living within them.
EVBF remains dedicated to its mission and is applying its expertise by working with other organisations and groups that wish to design, construct and manage sustainable buildings.
